Public Art : Cow Bombie (A Margaret River, 2010,
Cowparade cow)
Artist : © Ryan Tate
Date : 2010
Cowparade Cow Number : 10
Location : Cow Bombie is currently hanging at the
Sea Gardens cafe at 9 Mitchell Drive, Prevelly Park, Margaret
River.
Sponsor : Channel 7
Interesting Tidbits : Cow Bombie is proving to be one
of the crowd favorites, helped in part by the many signatures of the world's best surfers adorning the bovine's
board. During the Drug Aware Pro at Prevelly some of the world's best left their mark on Bombie's board, including
Taj Burrow, Mick Fanning and Mark Occhilupo.
Owner of Sea Gardens Cafe Rachel England-Brassy said “Cow Bombie has attracted many admirers and
supporters since his arrival in March, and I think his cool casual surfing “mootude” rubs off on all our patrons as
many folk are coming down to Sea Gardens Café, Prevelly Park, to sit and chew the cud with Cow Bombie”
The Cow Bombie and the Something to Crow About cow
were both chosen to be figurines for the Cowparade collection. Unfortunately the signatures won't be included.
Artist Statement : Known for consistent big waves, a
"cow-surfer" seemed the most comical and appropriate having considered Margaret River's unique attractions which
included wineries, forests and beaches.
Cowparade Charity Auction : The
Cow Bombie cow sold at the Margaret River CowParade auction for $6,200.
