Description: This is one of two fountains found at the foot of the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, the other being the  Fountain of the Tyrrhenian Sea by Pietro Canonica (March 1st, 1869 – June 8th, 1959). The marble figure representing the Adriatic Sea is looking towards the horizon as he reclines with his head resting in his right hand, while his left hand caresses a carved roaring Venetian lion.
