History of the Margaret Mitchell Fountain : Margaret Mitchell was the author of the novel "Gone With the Wind" and much like Margaret , the Margaret Mitchell Fountain is understated. In fact you probably would never know it was dedicated to her at all. The artist reponsible for the mesh columns is artist and film maker, Kit-Yin Snyder, who was commissioned in 1996, to create a sculpture that would reflect the life and works of Margaret Mitchell.
