Description: The Meteorite sculpture is a large sphere carved from Mt Magnet granite. The water feature symbolising a meteorite impact, a common phenomenon in northern Western Australia. When it was originally installed a fine mist of atomised water sprayed the sphere as it spun and at night fibre optic lights illuminate the water. Unfortunatley the last time I visited it was inactive. At the base you can see a swirling pattern of stone including images of geckos on black and pink granite.
