Public Art In The Bronx
The Bronx is one of the five boroughs which make up New York City. Over 1.4 million people live in
the borough, which has a land area of 42 square miles. The Bronx is divided by the Bronx River which was named
after Jonas Bronck an early Danish settler. A smaller river , The Hutchinson River (named after the relgious leader
Anne Hutchinson, who was killed along its banks in 1641) passes through
the East Bronx. About one fifth of The Bronx's area is dedicated to park land.
