Public Art in Augathella

Augathella is a small town in western Queensland, that lies on the banks of the Warrego River. Many moons ago it was the resting place for the teams of bullocks that converged from the three tracks coming in from Morven, Tambo, and Charleville. The town is known as the Cosmos Meatant Country and features a 4.5m steel and copper giant public art sculpture of a meat ant, in honour of their junior football team, named the "Mighty Meat Ants".
