Description : The original bronze statue of Venus was
removed in 1990 and later reinstalled in 1994. However the fountain had deteriorated so badly over the years it had
to be totally replaced. At one stage the base featured rocks and large clam shells but they were later replaced by
a sculpted crocodile. It now features two cherubs riding dolphins.
Unveiled : c. 1879
Location : The Venus Fountain can be found in a pond
at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Sydney, Australia.
